HELP WILDLIFE THIS WINTER
1. Wild up your GardenUndisturbed wild vegetation areas in your garden can provide homes and hiding places for an abundance of wildlife! Compost heaps are also great for insects, amphibians and reptiles!2. Food and FreshwaterFood becomes more scarce in the winter months so leave out bird feed and freshwater in bird baths. For our ground dwelling creatures like hedgehogs! Leave out freshwater and food such as cat or dog food (not containing fish) on your garden floor.3. Break the iceIf your garden pond freezes over, ensure to make a hole in the ice. Toxic gases can build up in the water of a frozen pond, which may kill any fish or frogs that are hibernating at the bottom.
