The Covid-19 Owlets

These two gorgeous tawny owlets came to us at the start of May 2020 after being found in the woods where they had fallen from their nest.
We were very pleased to see the tremendous progress the team had made from hand rearing these two since they were fluffy nestlings to
becoming independent adult owls.

A Little Owl

This little owl came in via Upland Way Vets. After a veterinary examination the owl was discovered to have a clenched left foot and was struggling to fly well. The little owl underwent x-rays and was closely monitored in the veterinary unit.
The owl stayed in a large indoor room with high perches for the wildlife team to observe and monitor flight progress. He has now been successfully released in a safe woodland, nearby to where he was found.
