This lovely lady is Tilly, a 6-year-old Beagle cross New Zealand Huntaway who is eagerly waiting for her forever home.
She has come into our care, through no fault of her own after her previous owners had a change in circumstances so could no longer provide Tilly with the care she requires.
Tilly has come from a busy household and is now ready to bring her gentle spirit into a new loving family.

Tilly’s ideal home would be where she can thrive as the only pet and where any children in the household are aged 6 and above.
She would love her home to have a secure, private garden with boundaries of a minimum of 6ft in height.
In Tilly’s previous home she was known to be housetrained and we are confident that when settled in her new home, she will continue to be so. During her time with us at the sanctuary, she has demonstrated that her previous owner has also introduced her to her basic training commands. She travels well in a car, is quick to settle and enjoys her adventures.

While she can be a little nervous around new people at first, Tilly is friendly and warms up quickly.
She certainly enjoys her walks, especially those with opportunities to sniff out and explore her surroundings. Imagine starting your day with a peaceful walk where Tilly walks beautifully on a lead and harness.
After a good sniffing session, you can cuddle with her on the couch, sharing love, as she shows her affectionate side.
Tilly may take some time to adjust to her new routine, but once settled, she can learn to be left for a few hours by introducing leaving hours at a pace she is comfortable with.

Since being in our care, she has been keen to work alongside her handler and has demonstrated how well she has taken to an introduction of agility, perhaps this is something her new owner would like to continue with, to fulfil Tilly’s energetic needs?
Tilly can be sensitive to loud noises such as fireworks or thunder, so a quiet, secure space at home is essential for her comfort.

While she might enjoy social walks with other dogs, she prefers not to engage directly with them.
